Our company has been manufacturing metal architectural products since 1970 as Gordon Industries, Inc. In 1998, we developed and patented our low-cost steel modular wheelchair ramp system and established the Amramp brand. After several years of successful local ramp distribution, we extended our footprint in 2002 by building a network of invested franchise partners across the United States and Canada.
Since then, we have expanded our product line beyond our signature steel modular wheelchair ramps to include commercial ramps, stair lifts, vertical platform lifts, overhead patient lifts, pool lifts, bathing transfers, portable showers, grab bars and handrails, automatic door openers, lift chairs, and home modifications.

Costs
How Much Will I Invest?
Amramp is registered with the SBA Franchise Program and third party lenders who may assist potential Franchisees in obtaining financing. The average Franchise location consists of an approximately 2 million population base, within an approximate 2 hour driving radius.
Amramp can assist you in utilizing your 401k to invest in a franchise without a penalty for early withdrawal.
Initial Franchise Fee
The average franchisee’s territory is typically approximately 2,000,000 persons.
The franchise fee is approximately $49,250 for a territory having a population of 1,000,000 persons, and approximately $98,500 for a territory having a population of 2,000,000 persons. Depending on the population of your franchisee’s territory, your franchise fee could be higher or lower.
If the population of “Your Territory” is 2,400,000: 

Divide population by 1,000,000 = 2.4 

Then multiply 2.4 by $49,250 = $118,200Â
In this example, the initial franchise fee is $118,200.

Initial Franchise Costs
These expenses are estimates of your initial investment in one franchise location prior to commencing operations and for the first six months thereafter. We cannot guarantee that you will not have additional expenses starting the business. Your costs will depend on how closely you follow the Amramp standards, your management skill, experience and business acumen, local economic conditions, the acceptance by local consumers of our approved products and services, prevailing wage rates, competition, etc. We’ve made no estimate regarding real estate acquisition costs. We do not require you to acquire real estate. We make no representation as to whether any of the estimated investment amounts are refundable.

Every Amramp Franchise is supported by our nationwide network of experts. As an Amramp owner, you will receive:
- 5 days of classroom training, including in-the-field, on-the-job time
- National call center phone support with data entry flows
- Site visits from HQ
- Day-to-day support from dedicated operations team
- Marketing, social media, and advertising support, tools, and guidance
- Complete engineering support, including a detailed customer layout, pricing spreadsheet, discounted cost, freight, estimate of labor/installation, and rental options
- Customized local landing page per owned territory
- Hands-on accounting support, including CC transaction processing and guidance as needed
- National accounts in place with dedicated sales rep and ongoing sales and local marketing support

Amramp Six-Step Franchise Award Process
All steps should occur within 2 weeks for a total of a 12 week process.

STEP 1
The first step in the Amramp award process is to check out our website and fill out an application. The website has all the basic information about the essence of the franchise partnership. Once we receive the application from our website, we will call you to discuss the Amramp franchise opportunity and your background. This call takes approximately half an hour.Â

STEP 2
Step two of the Amramp award process centers around our collateral package. The package includes:
- Letter from the CEO of Amramp
- Amramp Six Step Franchise Award Process
- Amramp Target Market List
- Amramp franchise partner support program
- Excerpt from the "Franchise King"
- Selection of our ramp picturesÂ
- Territory map and population

STEP 3
The third step of the Amramp award process is some due diligence. We ask that you "role-play" with our list of target markets to determine the need for ramps in your area. Also, you should drive around and investigate the topography and architecture of your area to determine the necessity for ramps. Once this is done, we will go over your findings via phone.Â

STEP 4
Step four of the Amramp award process is the receipt of our franchise disclosure document (FDD). You will receive our FDD either via UPS or electronically. We ask that you go through the FDD thoroughly, notating anything you have a question on. We will discuss these questions in a phone call, which varies in length dependent upon your questions.

STEP 5
This step includes an opportunity to meet our CEO in person with your spouse or business partner. After this meeting if all parties are in favor of moving forward, then you will receive a contact list of current Amramp franchise partners.
The contact list will be franchise partners whose territory is both similar in size and topography to your area and also who have similar backgrounds to yours. By this time, you will know enough about Amramp to ask the most important questions of our franchise partners.

STEP 6
Step six of the Amramp award process is to visit our corporate office in Randolph, MA. We call this a "Discovery Day" and you will meet with all departments and see where the ramps are made. After all these steps are completed, and if we both feel Amramp is the right fit for you, we will prepare a franchise agreement and schedule five days of comprehensive training at the corporate office.Â
This process should take 6-12 weeks, during which time you will gather facts and confidence that Amramp is a career choice that's right for you. Also during this period, we (Amramp) will learn about you and your potential to succeed at your new Amramp business. We do not rush this process. It's not about signing you up and collecting a fee. The real long term benefit to both you and Amramp results from you being successful at the business.Â
We have gone through this selection process many times and have learned what personal traits and abilities are necessary for you to be successful in our business. Once you and Amramp are confident that you are the right partner, we will proceed together.
