HUD’s 2022 Innovative Housing Showcase is a three-day HUD event that ran from June 10-12, 2022, on the National Mall between the Air & Space Museum and the National Gallery of Art – West Building. The theme for this year’s event was “Better Building for All.” The event will be open to the public and free of charge.
This year’s Showcase highlighted innovative designs and technologies that have the potential to increase housing supply and lower the cost of construction and ownership. The Showcase featured full-sized, tourable housing units. They also had several different housing types on display, including manufactured housing, modular housing, insulated concrete forms, and a container home, as well as live demonstrations of a 3D concrete printer.
Amramp assisted the event organizers for the 2022 Innovative Home Expo on the National Mall in Washington, DC presented by HUD.
There were six homes displayed and Amramp of Washington was the exclusive source for modular wheelchair ramps which allowed all people to see the inside of the exciting homes on display in DC.
Greg Lazzaroni and his team from Amramp coordinated the logistics in a very narrow window of time not only installing before the show opened and removing them the next week.
Greg, Just a personal note to say what a pleasure it has been working on the HUD project with you. I can’t tell you, and probably don’t need to, the small business owners that would just as easily cut corners for an extra buck than complete the job. Not only did you complete the job, as promised, you went above and beyond in making certain the needs of the mobility impaired had professionally prepared access to the exhibits. Renews my faith in humanity to be honest.
